Ontario Marine Surveys
I perform marine surveys on fibreglass, aluminium and wood boats, including power, sail and small recreational craft.
I also survey commercial cottage steel barges and workboats.
Whether you are selling or purchasing a boat, or renewing your insurance policy, my knowledge of vessel construction, Transport Canada and A.B.Y.C. standards are applied to all surveys.
I service areas throughout the Golden Horseshoe and as far north as Parry Sound.
What I Do
My surveys involve a visual and physical inspection to determine the quality and safety of the vessel.
During the survey, I will inspect the integrity and moisture levels in the hull, deck, interior and engine compartment. I can also take limited core samples of hull framing, with the owner’s permission.
I take pride in inspecting levels in the drive, engine and power steering oil, as well as the coolant in a closed cooling system for levels, strength and pH. If accessible, engine, transmission and keel mounting bolts will also be checked for tightness.

Survey Fees
Surveys are charged at $22 a foot. I accept cheques and eTransfers.
Survey Delivery
All fees must be paid in full to receive the completed survey. I provide electronic copies of surveys, and all electronic documents are protected. Printed reports are available at an additional cost.
